Evidence Based Practice
ERP
Exposure and Response Prevention is considered the gold standard and first line treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Exposure consists of approaching feared thoughts, situations or objects, and practicing not responding to urges to use compulsions or rituals to resolve anxiety. ERP is highly collaborative, as we work as a team to learn new ways to respond to OCD.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment therapy or ACT (pronounced as the verb), is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that puts your values at the center of our work. By cultivating psychological flexibility, we can move towards who and what matters to us, stop getting stuck on difficult emotions, thoughts, or beliefs and identify behaviors that don’t work for us.
CBT-E
Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the leading evidence based treatment for eating disorders. I utilize this protocol along with acceptance and commitment therapy, and a health at every size (HAES) approach. I work with people of all body types to heal your relationship with food and your body. I collaborate with nutritionists and specialized medical doctors to provide the highest quality of care and aid your recovery.
HRT
Habit Reversal Training is a brief evidenced based behavioral therapy used to break habits. We focus on awareness building, new responses, and meeting your sensory needs instead of relying on hair pulling or skin picking or other body focused repetitive habits.
